Roxanne Valies
Roxanne Valies was born in Brooklyn, raised in Suriname, and currently residing in South Florida, Roxanne Valies is an American of Dutch Caribbean descent. She has obtained her Bachelors and Masters degree in Decision Information Sciences from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a second Masters in Human Resources Management from Florida International University in Miami. She has twelve years of experience as a Systems Engineer and is employed with Baptist Health of South Florida. Her active involvement in the Caribbean-American community and the Suriname-American Network centers around engaging the Diaspora, showcasing and preserving culture, and business development. Roxanne Valies is a founder and former Board of Director of the Suriname Business Network, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the City of Lauderhill Chamber of Commerce. She has native Dutch fluency and conversational Spanish skills. Roxanne is also a member of the South Florida Caribbean-American Complete Count Committee.
