Olive C. Ezell

Olive C. Ezell was born on the island of Saint Lucia and traveled abroad to further matriculate in higher learning.   Her educational qualifications includes:  BS degree Human Resources Administration; BA degree in Early Childhood Education; Masters degree – Communication. Her career qualifications include: Educator - Tidewater Community College (TCC) in Virginia Beach Campus and Norfolk Naval Base. There, Ms Ezell instructs classes in Public Speaking (SPD 100) and Oral Communication (SPD 110) with emphasis on Service Learning. Ms Ezell is also the Founder of Hampton Roads Mixing Business with Pleasure, A Networking Forum for Small Businesses and Professional People.  In addition, Ms Ezell is a Radio Talk Show Host on Williamsburg Public Radio Station, entitled:  “Caribbean Diaspora.” This program airs on www.wrrw.fm Sundays 6:00- 7:00pm and locally in James City County, Yorktown, and surrounding communities on 102.5FM.  For her accomplishments, she received numerous accolades, congratulatory and complimentary letters from the Mayors of the surrounding cities — Portsmouth and Norfolk Virginia. On behalf of the Citizens of Virginia Beach, Former Mayor Orbendorf presented her with a Proclamation and Governor Timothy Kaine awarded a Proclamation on behalf of the Commonwealth. On behalf of the Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS), Ms. Ezell was invited to the White House whereby President Bush signed the Bill that authorized June as “Caribbean American Heritage Month.”
