Mr. Hulbert James

Mr Hulbert James is working on his fourth census project as a Community Organizer. For the 1990 Census, Hulbert served as director of NYC Census Project, an NYC funded program to maximize a full count among the large immigrant communities in NYC. He also coordinated the work of 10 large cities, which was undercounted, and urged the Census to use statistical methods to improve the count. For the 2010 Census he is wearing numerous census hats: Chair of the South Florida Caribbean American Complete Count Committee; member of Institute of Caribbean Studies; and facilitator of a Census workshop at the Congressional Black Caucus legislative conference sponsored by Congresswoman Yvette Clarke. He speaks locally and nationally about the 2010 Census and its impact on the Caribbean American population. He is also passionate, dedicated, and committed to ensuring that every Caribbean American is counted in the Census
